IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Volunteering Requirements have changed...

The Volunteer Requirements have changed for the School District. We are now using an electronic screening system called Be A Mentor. The screening process takes anywhere from 48 hours to 2 weeks depending on the clearance level. We advise all volunteers complete the process as soon as possible to avoid being told the process is not complete and  until then you can not volunteer or drive on a school sponsored trip.

We can no longer accept your insurance  and DL on campus. Once you are cleared, your clearance will last as long as your student in is the district, making it easier for you the following years. Every volunteer must be cleared.

Welcome to Twin Creeks

Welcome to the 2014/15 School Year

Dear Families,

Welcome to Twin Creeks! Whether this is your first year at Twin Creeks or you have returning students, it is always a magical experience beginning school.  The staff and I look forward to a positive, working partnership along this journey.  The intent of this letter is to serve as an initial road map as we begin the 2014-15 school year.

Changes to note:

  • On-site Registration is not required. However, it is the most efficient way to submit your district and site paperwork, purchase new spirit wear, and have your child’s picture taken all in one spot on one day!  Registration will be on August 21.  Watch for details.
  • SRVUSD is implementing a new system for all adults who wish to volunteer on a school campus or drive/chaperone day and overnight field trips. This new Volunteer Management System features a web-based software application that allows the District and all schools to better track and provide the appropriate level of clearance for school volunteers.  ALL adult volunteers will need to go through this new process. The District will NOT be asking parents to incur any of the costs associated with these clearance processes. To begin the application process:  Click Here: http://www.srvusd.net/parents/volunteers
  • Lastly, our playground has been re-paved and painted. Please note some classroom numbers are in a different location - look carefully as to where your child is lining up.

Please know you can count on the staff and I to be caring, competent guides on your Twin Creeks educational journey.  Looking forward to seeing you at registration,

Ms. M

Barton Tutors Needed

One-on-One Reading Tutors Needed!

We are looking for some volunteer reading tutors to work with students one-on-one. No experience is necessary. We will provide training in the Barton Reading Program. If you have some time during the school day (about 2-3 hours per week, each hour on a different day) and would like to help a child improve his/her reading, please let us know by emailing our reading teacher, Rachel McCutchen at rmccutchen@srvusd.net<mailto:rmccutchen@srvusd.net>. In your email, please include some options for your available time. If you have been trained in Barton already, please indicate this as well.

Policy on missing first three days of school.

SAN RAMON VALLEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT 699 Old Orchard Drive, Danville, California 94526

Educational Services, Student Services, Enrollment (925) 552-5052 ´éč FAX (925) 837-2605

  • Missing the First Three Days of School 2014-15

  • As you plan your summer vacation, be aware that school begins on Monday, August 25, 2014

Because our district is growing, schools are very full and many continue to have wait lists.

As in the past, if your child does not attend the first three days of school, your student will be dropped from the school on Thursday, August 28, 2014

In that event, you will need to reenroll your student. A space at your resident school will not be held for your child. If there is not space at your resident school when you return, your child will be placed at the closest school based on space availability.

Reflections, Fall 2014
REFLECTIONS:
"The World Would Be A Better Place If..."
Want a great project for your kids this summer? The Reflections Arts
Recognition Program is a Theme based annual National PTA sponsored Art Contest that encourages students in pre-K through grade 12 to explore and be
involved in the arts. Thousands of students will reflect on the theme and
create original works of art in the categories of:

- Dance Choreography
- Film Production
- Music Composition
- Literature
- Photography
- Visual arts

Since 1969, over 10 million students across the nation have taken part in
this popular PTA program.  The art is usually due in Oct. so if you start
now your kids can have the whole summer to work on their projects. Students received a flyer and a bookmark with the current theme this week at school. This year's theme by
Mercedes Messer of Puyallup, Washington was selected through the Reflections Theme Search Contest. When asked what inspired her theme, Mercedes said, "Our world, because I care about it and wanted to know other kids' ideas on how we could make it a better place.  Check out this link to learn more:
