Parents July Summer To-Do List
SRVUSD Parents July TO DO List:

 

Think the start of the school year is a long way off? Not so, we only have about 5 weeks left until school starts and only 2 weeks before the Annual Update begins.

 

You can make the Annual Update process go much smoother if you take care of the following housekeeping items in July:

 

 

  • Update your VOLUNTEER information! Are you a new parent to SRVUSD or has your child promoted to a new school? If so, and you want to volunteer, you will need to register or update your information in our online Volunteer Management System. For more information and instructions, visit http://www.srvusd.net/volunteers.

Annual Update information for continuing students and families

SRVUSD Annual Update Fall 2015

Each fall, San Ramon Valley Unified parents are asked to complete an online “Annual Update” to verify household and emergency contact information and complete the annual release acknowledgement and permission requirements.

For the 2015-2016 school year, to assist the online program in running smoothly, the parent portal will open on a different day in August for each high school and its feeder middle and elementary schools. Please note: parents do not need to fill out the annual update on the day that the portal opens. Parents will have until the first day of school, Tuesday, August 25, 2015, to fill out the information.

Parents will receive a message in their Parent Portal with a link to begin the Annual Update process on the following dates:

Thursday, August 6: California High School, Iron Horse Middle School, Pine Valley Middle School, Golden View Elementary, Twin Creeks Elementary, Bollinger Canyon Elementary, Montevideo Elementary, Walt Disney Elementary, Neil Armstrong Elementary and Country Club Elementary

August

  • August 4th -Parents will receive a message in their Parent Portal with a link to begin the Annual Update process.
  • August 6th- Annual Update on the Parent Portal opens for you to update your child’s information & Twin Creeks Online Registration through Togeda also opens.(This website is not sponsored by the school.  Information provided on this website may be available to Parent Teacher Associations and other educational benefit foundations as well as school personnel as required.)
  • August 10th – Twin Creeks Office Opens to the public.
  • August 19th - Kinder picnic, details mailed
  • August 20th -Onsite Registration: Parents & students should attend to complete the registration process.  School Pictures will also be taken at this event. 2:30pm-7:30pm
  • August 24th -Parent Portal opens for parents to login and receive Teacher Assignment.
  • August 25th -First Day of School – Minimum Day, check bell schedule for details     
  • August 25th- Back to school night grades 1-5
  • August 27th- Back to School Night, Kindergarten            
  • August 28 – Drop No-Show students (see info about missing first 3 days of school)

Reflections 2015... get a jump on the fun!

Reflections News: 

Are you looking for something fun and educational for your kids to do over the summer.  Have you heard of Reflections?  It is a national, annual, PTA arts recognition program.  There are 6 categories:  Visual Arts, Photography, Music, Literature, Dance, & Film. Get started over the summer and submit your piece in September 2015. 

Remember to get inspired by the theme.  The theme for 2015-16 is:  Let Your Imagination Fly.    

Students may now submit 3D entries under the Visual Arts category! Under 3D, materials such as ceramics, sculpture, jewelry, fiber arts, etc. are eligible. There are certain conditions under which students must follow for the 3D submission, such as the entry must be portable, and students must include three photos of their 3D artwork of three different angles with their entry form.

 

There will no longer be a thickness restriction to the 2D artwork. This means that students now could create and submit their 2D artwork on a traditional stretched canvas on wood.

Get a jump on the fall rush to be approved to volunteer on campus

All Volunteers must be cleared prior to volunteering on campus.

New fall kinder and other grade levels families can complete process and be cleared to volunteer in the fall.

Volunteer Management System

Adults who wish to volunteer on a school campus, drive and/or

chaperone a day and overnight field trip need to apply through the Volunteer Management System (VMS)

 

There are three levels of clearance:

  • Level 1 – Classroom, on-campus school volunteers, and non-driver chaperones for field trips.  Applicants will be approved through the Sex Offender Registry. Clearance takes 48 hours.

 

  • Level 2 – Field Trip Drivers.  The District will obtain a driving history for the last ten years from the DMV and will be notified any time there is a reportable violation or incident.  Volunteers with 2 or more points will not be approved. Clearance takes up to 10 days.

 

  • Level 3 – Overnight Chaperones. Volunteers’ fingerprints will be processed through the FBI and the Department of Justice.  Clearance can take 45 days.
